The first event of the BSOP São Paulo was won by Anderson Marques.

There were 128 entrants to Event #3 “Super 500,” which had a buy-in of 500 reais (about $300 USD). Vega, better known as Nuthshell in online poker, was the first to go at the final table full of Brazilians where he had just won the highest jackpot in the history of online poker. This time he finished in sixth position, earning him R$2,720 ($535) in prize money.

Oyarce, who tried very hard to double up but ultimately failed, finished in fifth place and took home R$3,450 (about $680) in prize money.

Anderson Marques, a local, took first place and took home R$ 11,750 (US$2,300) after defeating Rafael Saad, another Brazilian.

“Playing poker is like being hit by a truck full of emotions and experiences. It’s great, indescribable, when you manage to finish all that with a title and an economic consequence. The only people who get it are poker players “Marques came clean to the media covering the event.
